Answer this: when was the last time you truly felt passionate about something? Honestly, when was the last time you felt passion? What in your life creates such a fire in your belly - you can’t help but get excited about it? Maybe it’s your children. Maybe it’s that new car you’ve waited years to buy. Maybe it’s that college degree you‘ve worked so hard to earn.

For Joe Caruso, it’s his job. Yes - there really are people who love what they do for a living!

Joe’s passion for radio can be traced back to his early days as a youngster growing up in Chicago. At night, he’d secretly listen to his favorite program The Dr. Demento Show when he should‘ve been sleeping. Intrigued by the sounds coming from that old Zenith, Joe’s imagination ran wild. It was then and there Joe found his true calling.

The chips began to fall into place while Joe was programming his college radio station. He received a phone call from Chicago powerhouse WLS. They hired him for an internship which led to a full-time job. From there, Joe studied improvisation at The Second City (training ground for many Saturday Night Live comedians) and Improv Olympic. Joe also wrote and sang commercial jingles for big name companies like Honda, Buick and Empress Casino.

Joe has used his background in comedy and music to create award winning radio shows. He’s been top ranked in markets all over the country including Chicago, Milwaukee and Louisville. He has also done work for radio legend Rick Dees with whom he still remains in contact. In May of 2007, Joe decided he was ready for some good Tex-Mex and Southwestern hospitality, so he hung his hat in San Antonio as the co-host of Magic 105.3’s morning show.

Outside of Magic, you can catch Joe with San Antonio’s renowned Henry Brun Band. Joe is a jazz vocalist who has performed with Henry at such events as Jazz'SAlive, The Main Plaza dedication, and Jazz at the Witte. Joe’s ultimate goal is to follow in the footsteps of his famous relative - opera singer Enrico Caruso - and sing for audiences worldwide.
